Thank you for praying for this last month of ministry! A month filled with answered prayers—gifting us with those things we specifically knew to be asking God’s providence over and then the surprises along the way!
As some of you may notice, this praise and prayer report is being sent your way a little bit later in the month than usual! This is mainly due to a little thing called “morning sickness” or in my case “all day/all night” sickness!
Yes, yes, we have some really wonderful news we would like to announce! We are having another baby!
We want to begin by praising our Great God and Giver of all good gifts for this little treasure due around the end of March! And we want to thank all of you who have prayed for our little family especially during this last year. The Lord bas been faithful, through the loss of William and the many, many months that have followed, to teach us valuable lessons that not only deepened our relationship with Him but also with each other—giving passion and compassion to the ministry God has given us to do!
Back to July: Camp Good News, held at a campground beautifully situated on a bluff overlooking the Arkansas River earlier in July, was such a fun and profitable week! We were able to speak into the lives of over 100 8-14 year old campers and enjoyed forming friendships with the kids and the staff! Kevan was delighted to share from the Word each morning challenging the kids through the lives of missionaries gone before, and evening using the topic of creation with fun PowerPoint and lots of stuff from his collection of rodents and dinosaurs!
We returned from Amsterdam (Missouri, that is) the first week in August after we enjoyed Kamp Keirsey with about 100 other people! Kevan was privileged to preach each evening from the book of Ephesians on Walking In Christ to about 70 junior and senior high schoolers, and our whole family enjoyed the fellowship and get away!
Tirzah was delighted with the attention received from our adventures! We saw God work in amazing ways at both camps and had great conversations and times of prayer with youth, as young as 10 to young adults getting ready for their first year of college, who were desirous to live pure and obedient lives for Christ! We were also aware of 4 who were saved at the camps combined and rejoiced to witness 5 become obedient in water baptism! God blessed His Word as it went forth!
If you live in or close to the Kansas City area (and know any school-aged children) we invite you to participate in this month’s “Something To Think About.” The summer session will be all about water birds, three in particular, but will include all of Kevan’s bird and egg collection as well. If you scroll down in our updates you should see our original invitation with all the details. Please consider being involved and passing on the word! 🙂 And then let us know if you can come and how many you will be bringing!
