a special baby shower
What a joy to celebrate both Kaleigh and her precious baby boy a few weeks ago in our home—we had a full house! It is so awesome to come together in order to pamper, pray over, and present the gospel to these mamas who choose to repent and turn from evil—doing so outside the very building where their child is scheduled to be murdered! Please pray with us for the safe delivery of Dorryen Emanual (due the end of this month) and that his parents would come to know Christ as Savior and walk to please Him! We are delighted that God has given us a relationship them!
the whole truth and nothing but the truth
“From the first time I met you at Planned Parenthood, I have told you the truth. And I will continue to do so. My wife and I want to continue a relationship with you and desire to be your friend. I could think, ‘I want you to be my friend so I won’t bring up the hard things.’ But because I am your friend, I have to tell you the hard things!” This was Kevan’s preface to a conversation over dinner with the father of Kaleigh’s baby—so grateful Kevan was able to spend an hour and a half talking about the gospel, fatherhood, fornication, right relationships, and abortion. Please pray that Lou will come to a saving faith in Christ alone.
another baby rescued
We praise the Lord that another baby was rescued from certain death earlier this month! This precious little preborn being escorted to his execution by his parents, was also being escorted by an Uber driver. I didn’t know this. But when I asked the man behind the wheel if he would please turn around and park across the street so that I could talk with the couple in the back, he said, “Yes!” When the couple got out of the car they thought I was going to walk them into the building—I literally had to hold them back. How grateful I am that God had us so far from the entrance at that point, that they were willing to listen to me call them to repent from the sin of murder offering them help and hope through Christ, AND that the Uber driver had driven away! And how incredible to watch these parents turn from a path that was leading not only to their baby’s destruction, but theirs as well. That evening our family went to their home to once more share Christ’s love by praying over them and giving them a Mama Bag—filled with precious baby items and pampering soap for her. The enemy still desires their (then)10 week old child to be sacrificed to Molech and is pressuring them through her family to abort. Please pray that they will remain resolved in their decision and that God would open the door for us to speak to them and/or see them again if He so wills! And that they would be saved! We know the Holy Spirit is drawing them to the Savior, with or without us!
operation save america
Operation Save America is coming to Wichita, KS this summer, July 16-23! But they are planning to travel to KC for a city wide rally Tuesday evening, July 19th (held at Grace Christian Fellowship Church of Wyandotte County) and a full day of ministry at Planned Parenthood, The Center for Women’s Health, and other places the next day, Wednesday, July 20th. If you are near Wichita or live in our area we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you avail yourself to this cause. Please prayerfully consider NOW marking these dates on your calendar in order to keep it free and as a reminder to pray! If you live in the KC area, and spend time faithfully praying for the ministry that happens on the Front Line of LIFE, it would be of great value to attend the rally on the 19th, and get your feet wet the next day—and we urge you to do so! Please watch this vimeo clip to get an idea of what an OSA city wide event looks like: https://vimeo.com/53810637 And check out their webpage for more information on OSA: http://www.operationsaveamerica.org/
abolish human abortion
“Time to Win a Battle Ministries” stands to proclaim God’s Word on many front lines in our culture. “Truth is fallen in the streets” and we desire to be one that stands in the Gap—both in prayer and in practice. We declare ourselves to be Abolitionists! Our stand for the pre-born is based on the truth that babies are made in the image of God. Abortion is child sacrifice—doing violence to His image bearers in the place of incarnation, where the Word was made flesh—and we seek an immediate abolition of this wicked practice. As a foundation, we are:
Biblical—the concept of abolitionism (the removal of evils) is derived from the word of God. Our call is to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8). The Bible does not merely command believers to abstain from evils but also to “expose them” (Eph. 5:11). The practice of “pure and undefiled religion” is to look after the orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world (James 1:27). To remain consistent we are required to keep the two great commandments—love God and love our neighbor as our self (Luke 4:18-19).
Providential—vs Pragmatic mindset. We do not trust in war-horses or chariots. We trust in the spiritual means and methods God has given to us in His word. We look to the Spirit of God to lead us, believing He is our ever present guide and that He is not silent. It is the power of God working through His Holy Spirit that changes hearts. We acknowledge that God has made men active participants in this drama, but we trust in Him above our own understanding (Prov. 3).
Gospel Centered—the chief weapon we possess in the fight against abortion is the Gospel. Abortion is sin and the only answer for sin is repentance and a saving faith in the finished work of Christ. The Gospel alone can truly and permanently mobilize human action, motivate moral behavior, and mandate consistent, compassionate social justice. It brings redemption from destruction; it is the wellspring of love, hope, and joy, and the real answer to abortion.
Body Driven—abolition is an obligation of the Church. We seek to awaken the Church to fulfill her ordained purpose to be salt and light in this sin spoiled and darkened world. The church must take the gospel to the ends of the earth and bring it into conflict with every dark deed of man. It was the church of Christ that sought for abolition of infanticide in Rome, chattel slavery in the British Empire and the United States, twin killing in Nigeria, temple prostitution of children in India, etc. Christians are to “abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good” (Rom. 12:9), to expose evil (Eph. 5:11), and to destroy the ungodly thinking that defends evil (2 Cor. 10:5). We are exhorted in Scripture to rescue the weak from death, snatch the falling from flames, and open our mouths for the innocent.
Immediatists—allowing abortion in some cases along the way to its total abolition is neither strategically sound nor consistently Christian. You cannot abolish any evil by justifying or allowing it to continue in some cases. Though seemingly pragmatic, this strategy is compromise and its promise of effectiveness is false. We reject incremental and gradual regulation of evil. We must make no compromise with sin or the means of fighting Sin. God never accepts a gradual repentance (individually or nationally) but rather demands a radical cutting off and turning towards Christ alone in total faith. Repentance is a complete reversal of belief, thought, and action.
