God’s word is taking direct hits not only in our society, but sadly in our churches as well! It is grievous to hear and read reports of church leaders choosing to cast doubt upon the Scriptures, leading their congregation to ask foolish questions and engage in dangerous compromise! What is even more grievous are the Christians led astray so easily—”tossed to and fro, and carried away by every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness” (Eph 4:14). They have not been students of the word and therefore, they do not know its content! They don’t even know when they are being deceived! Defeat is inevitable when there is this kind of sin in the camp! Victory only comes to those who know their sword and use it well!
One of my favorite things to do is to preach on characters and stories in God’s word that Christians easily overlook in their Bible reading. These people (even if mentioned only once) are real with very significant roles! I enjoy studying the genealogies and finding family lines and common themes that teach us very important truths. I have a burden to show others how to “answer the words of truth”—whether it is to a godless generation or a fellow christian confused on an important issue! To know the word of God should be our highest aim! I have a passion to stir up the love for the Scriptures in the heart of believers! I desire to exhort, equip, and encourage my fellow soldiers in this fight! I would be honored to come and preach in your church service, engage those who attend your youth group, Bible Study or Sunday School class, or teach these truths at a chapel or camp service!
The following are several prepared messages:
Turn the Battle to the Gate
God is looking for men and women who are willing to go to the “point of greatest need” in their culture. We are called to go where no one else is going. Jesus did this by plunging the Cross in to the heart of sin and death. We are told in Scripture that those who belong to the Lord are to possess the gates of their enemies.
A Bayard and the Breach
A call for Christians to not allow entry-ways for the enemy into their lives. Not only are we to keep watch over our souls, but we are to stand in the gap for our families, churches, and in our culture as well.
On the Verge
In a day when so many inside and outside of the Church are seeing a diminishing of the Church’s influence within our culture, God is still King and is seeking to show Himself strong in behalf of His people. Rather than accepting extinction, “the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits” (Daniel 11:32).
3M Modus Operandi (Powerpoint ®)
Three Old Testament examples are highlighted, featuring important keys for witnessing, preaching, and teaching biblical truth. The 3M approach—the Ezekiel method, the Zebulun mindset, and the Micaiah message—is imperative today as it was for those who utilized it in Scripture.
Hold Fast (Powerpoint ®)
God’s People need to hold fast and be active in the war for souls and for truth even as our world grows more wicked. Taking examples from creation and history, this message challenges all to get a grip on the vital truth that there is still time to win a battle before the sun goes down.
It’s About Time!
Almost 2,000 years ago, on Mars’ Hill, Paul preached to the people of Athens. In that sermon, he proclaimed that God “hath determined the times…” Our eternal God is not bound by time but created it for us! The Bible tells about certain “due times” that each person on earth needs to know about in order to live a life that pleases his Maker— “the time appointed,” “the time accepted,” and “the time allotted.”
Spoil and the Scriptures
God tells us that we are to delight in His Word. He has given this Book to us, filled with wisdom, truth, and spiritual riches, but often Christians do not take advantage of this great gift. Kevan speaks about his love for the Scriptures and, using Psalm 119 and epic Old Testament battles, declares the worth of the Book, shares how we are to delight in the Book, and challenges believers to get into the Book every day, and to seek God’s treasures that are vital for success in the Christian life.
The following are several messages of little known people of the Bible…but I have been blessed to preach on many more!
